Private chefs in Pennsylvania
Private chef in Pennsylvania
A private chef in Pennsylvania is dinner in a stone farmhouse in Bucks County, a Main Line dining room on the night of the Devon Horse Show, or a lake house in the Poconos with the whole family up for the week. Indulge cooks across eastern Pennsylvania: Philadelphia, the Main Line, Chester County, Bucks County and the Poconos.
The Main Line and Philadelphia
Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Gladwyne, Villanova and Wayne are old-house country, with dining rooms built for a full table and gardens made for summer. The spring calendar runs on horses: the Radnor Hunt Races in May and the Devon Horse Show at the end of the month, with dinners at home before and after. In the city we cook in Rittenhouse and Society Hill townhouses and in Chestnut Hill, where kitchens are tighter and the menus are planned to suit.
Client dinners, graduation dinners and holiday parties fill the rest of the year.
Chester County horse country
Unionville, Chadds Ford and the country around Kennett Square are farms, hunt country and stone barns. Dinners here are often outside: on a terrace above the paddocks, in a barn with the doors open, or on the lawn after a point-to-point. Kennett Square grows much of the country's mushrooms, and they belong on an autumn menu alongside Lancaster County produce, local cheese and Pennsylvania lamb.
Bucks County and the Poconos
New Hope, Solebury, Doylestown and the river towns along the Delaware are weekend country for Philadelphia and New York alike, with stone farmhouses, converted barns and gardens suited to small weddings. Menus follow the farm stands: asparagus in spring, corn, tomatoes and peaches through the summer, apples and squash in the autumn.
In the Poconos, lake houses at Lake Wallenpaupack, Lake Naomi and Lake Harmony fill in summer and again for ski weekends. A chef in the house means dinner is ready when everyone comes in off the water or the mountain.
How a Pennsylvania booking works
Send an inquiry with the date, the town and the number of guests, and whether it is a dinner, an event or a stay at the lake. Michael writes a menu from the season and the setting and refines it with you. On the day the team arrives about two hours before guests, cooks, serves and leaves the kitchen clean; for a stay, one chef handles every meal from the first night to the last. Please email for pricing and availability.
