Private chefs in New York City
Private chef in New York City, NY
A private chef in New York City is a dinner in your own apartment, cooked the way the restaurants downstairs cannot: for your guests, your table and your evening, with Michael at the stove and Dominique running the room. Indulge cooks in Manhattan and Brooklyn year round, for two at a dining table or forty in a loft.
Dinners in Manhattan apartments
Manhattan kitchens are small and the evenings are not. Michael cooks tasting menus and family-style dinners in galley kitchens on the Upper East Side, in prewar apartments on the West Side and in Tribeca lofts with a view. Dishes are planned for the space: courses that finish in the oven while the last one is served, and plating that happens at the counter, not across a kitchen that does not exist.
For larger dinners, the team brings its own equipment and a server, so a building's kitchen is never the limit on the guest list.
Brooklyn townhouses and rooftops
A townhouse garden in Cobble Hill, a Williamsburg rooftop in June, a brownstone kitchen in Park Slope: Brooklyn gives us the room Manhattan does not. Long tables outside in summer, Sunday lunches that run into the evening, and birthday dinners that start with cocktails on the roof and end with dessert downstairs.
The occasions we cook for in the city
Birthday and anniversary dinners at home. Holiday dinners for families who would rather not be in a restaurant on the night. Client dinners and board dinners in private dining rooms and offices. Engagement parties, showers and the small weddings that happen in apartments. Weekly service for households who want their weeknight dinners handled.
Menus follow the Greenmarket: spring vegetables from Union Square in May, tomatoes and corn in August, squash and game in the autumn, and fish from the Fulton market all year.
How a New York dinner works
Send an inquiry with the date, the address and the number of guests, and whether the building has rules about deliveries and service hours; most do, and Dominique plans around them. Michael writes the menu, you refine it together, and on the night the team arrives about two hours before guests, cooks, serves each course and leaves the kitchen as it was found. Shopping, labour, service and cleanup are included.

Questions
Private chefs in New York City, NY: questions
Can a private chef cook in a small Manhattan kitchen?
Yes. Michael plans the menu for the kitchen you have, brings any equipment the kitchen lacks, and plates at the counter. For larger dinners the team brings a server and its own gear, so the kitchen is not the limit on your guest list.
Do you cook for client and corporate dinners in the city?
Yes. Client dinners, board dinners and team celebrations in private dining rooms, offices and homes across Manhattan and Brooklyn. Dominique plans the timeline with your office and the building, and directs the service on the night.
Is there a minimum number of guests for a New York dinner?
No. We cook for two at a dining table as happily as for forty in a loft. Please email for pricing and availability with your date and guest count.
Which parts of New York City do you serve?
Manhattan and Brooklyn year round, and Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester and Long Island by arrangement. For The Hamptons, see our Hamptons page.
