Private chefs in Miami

Private chef in Miami, FL

A private chef in Miami is dinner on the terrace while the heat goes out of the day: ceviche and stone crab in season, fish off the boat, and a table that runs late. Indulge cooks in Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne through the winter season, and for events in South Florida year round.

The winter season

From Thanksgiving to Easter, Miami is where our clients spend the months they are not in The Hamptons. We cook for the same families in both places: holiday dinners in December, Art Basel week dinners for houses full of guests, and the long weekends through February and March when the whole family flies down.

Stone crab season opens in October and runs to May, and the menus follow it: claws with mustard sauce to start, then whatever is best at the fish market that morning.

Terraces, pools and waterfront houses

Most Miami dinners happen outside. Michael plans menus that are served at the table rather than plated under a heat lamp in a kitchen forty feet away: ceviches and crudos, grilled whole fish, salads built on citrus and herbs, and desserts that hold up in the warmth. Dominique plans the lighting, the service and the timing around sunset, which in January is a little after six.

The occasions we cook for in Miami

Dinner parties and birthdays at home in Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne. Holiday dinners and New Year's Eve for houses on the Beach and in Bal Harbour. Weekend and week-long stays with a chef in the house, with breakfast, lunch and dinner handled. Corporate dinners during Art Basel, the boat show and the tennis. Engagement dinners, showers and small weddings at home or on the water.

How a Miami booking works

Send an inquiry with your dates, the address and the number of guests. Michael writes the menu around the season and the setting, and refines it with you. On the night the team arrives about two hours before guests, cooks, serves and leaves the kitchen clean. For stays, one chef, one set of menus, every meal handled. Shopping, labour, service and cleanup are included. Please email for pricing and availability.

Venues in Miami that welcome your own chef

Most of our dinners are at home or at a rental. For a bigger party, these Miami venues let you bring in an outside chef or caterer.

Every venue sets its own rules for kitchens, rentals and insurance, and they change. Tell us the venue when you send your inquiry and we will check with them before you book.
