CHEF TROY TINGLING

Chef Troy Tingling was raised in Jamaica and developed a love for culinary arts following some of the greats including Julia Childs and Graham Kerr, The Galloping Gourmet. Prior to working with his long list of respectable clients, Chef Troy began cooking with his grandmother, whom he credits his love of culinary arts and strive for greatness with everything he does.

 

While attending Hilaleah Senior High School, Chef Troy took part in culinary programs, Focal and ProStart with the Throughbreds Team competing and learning practical and technical skills of the industry. Winning the City and District competitions, Chef Troy and his team went on to compete in the Nationals competition for State Championship. 

 

After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in 2008, Chef Troy took an opportunity to go back to Jamaica and work at the Sandals Royal Caribbean in their French cuisine restaurant. Chef Troy was home and he was able to learn more about his culture and began mixing the Caribbean flavors to create fusion recipes that he uses with clients today including his Signature Jerk Seasoning.  During his time in Jamaica, he was honored to cook for then Prime Minister, Bruce Golding. 

 

Chef Troy has worked with a number of resorts in the South Florida area including the Seminole Casino, Wyndahm Orlando Resort, and Sheridan Four Points in Miami Beach. Working on the resorts, Chef Troy has served an array of guests and is always interested in learning their stories and connecting with them through his food. 

 

Chef Troy has catered for recording artists, actors, and dignitaries until, December 2014, Chef Troy became the full-time personal chef to NBA All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire. 

 

Chef Troy has been featured in Mens’ Journal Online and Jamaica TV.  With his success, Chef Troy has been dedicated to going back to Jamaica to share what he has learned, and committed to raising awareness of the hardships in Jamaica and bringing joy back to the land he loves.
